About Ms. Meredith
My name is Aerie Meredith and I look forward to meeting and getting to know your child in the art classroom this year! Our goal will be to Explore the World and Ourselves through the visual arts.
I come to Saint Stephen Martyr School with 14 years experience in the field of art education. I was most recently a lead teacher with 2 and 3 year old students. Previously I worked in the education department at Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft for over 10 years, developing cross-curricular art education programs for classroom teachers and leading hands-on art education programming for students Pre-K through High School. I graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2000, having explored a variety of two and three-dimensional media including drawing, painting, printmaking and weaving; but with an emphasis in Fine Metals/Jewelry and Functional Design/Wood. I also worked for a year-and-a-half forging one-of-a kind architectural ironwork in a local blacksmith shop. I am a practicing artist and maintain a personal art studio where I create textile and mixed media based works.
I look forward to sharing my passion and utilizing my experience to bring the world of art to life and make it relevant for your child. I welcome parents’ participation in this process!
I will be sharing my time this year between Saint Stephen Martyr School (Monday and Tuesday) and John Paul II Academy (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).
